The flagship state university and the closest D1 program to Western Mass. UMass Amherst competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The men's program is led by veteran head coach Fran O'Leary, who has guided the Minutemen since 2015. Located directly in the Pioneer Valley, UMass regularly recruits locally from PVIAC programs.
