Western Mass soccer championship history by year, division, and program. PVIAC sectional champions from 2009 through today.
Western Mass sectional championships were the primary postseason event for PVIAC schools from the early 20th century through 2021. Starting in fall 2022, the MIAA restructured to a fully statewide tournament format. Schools from Western Mass still compete for statewide MIAA Division I-IV titles, but the "Western Mass Champion" designation as a distinct sectional award was retired. This page covers the sectional era and notes notable recent performances.

Notable Programs in Western Mass History
Ludlow High School
Ludlow, MA
Boys soccer dynasty of the early 2010s, winning three consecutive Western Mass Class A titles (2009, 2010, 2011) and adding championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018 under one of the most successful programs in regional history.
Longmeadow High School
Longmeadow, MA
One of the most decorated programs in Western Mass. Boys won the Class A title in 2015, 2019, and 2025; girls won in 2013, 2018, and 2021. Both programs routinely appear in state tournament rounds.
Belchertown High School
Belchertown, MA
Boys Class B dynasty of the mid-2010s, winning five consecutive Western Mass Class B titles from 2015 through 2019, the longest active championship streak in the region during that era.
Amherst Regional High School
Amherst, MA
Boys program won back-to-back Western Mass Class A titles in 2012 and 2013, ending Ludlow's three-year run and establishing Amherst as a top contender in Pioneer Valley soccer.
West Springfield High School
West Springfield, MA
Boys program captured the Western Mass Class A title in 2014, 2021, and 2024, spanning ten years of consistent championship-level performance.
