The most current version of these Terms is always available at westernmasssoccer.com/terms.

All Visitors

6. The Directory - All Entity Types, How Listings Work
6.1 - Entity Types
Our directory covers eight distinct entity types: clubs, fields, high schools, colleges, leagues, camps, tryouts, and jobs. Each entity type has its own detail pages, admin management interface, and public listing format.
6.2 - How Listings Are Created & Maintained
All listings are created and maintained by us as the Site's editorial staff. They are based on publicly available information. We do not charge for listings. Being listed on this Site is not a certification of quality, safety, compliance, or endorsement of any kind.
Some directory data is stored in our Supabase database (allowing admin edits to appear on the site without a new software deployment); other data remains as static TypeScript files in the codebase. The public sees the same information regardless of which storage method we use.
6.3 - Requesting a New Listing
If your organization is not listed and you believe it should be, please contact us. We review all requests and add listings at our discretion. We are not obligated to list any particular organization.
6.4 - Requesting Corrections
If any listing contains inaccurate information, please contact us with specific correction details. We will review and update the listing as promptly as possible. We appreciate corrections — our directory's usefulness depends on accuracy.
6.5 - Requesting Removal
If you are a verified representative of a listed organization and wish to be removed from the directory, please contact us. We honor removal requests from authorized representatives. Public institutions (public schools, municipal parks, public fields) may remain in our directory as part of the public record, though we will update or correct any specific details upon request.
6.6 - No Guarantee of Completeness
Our directory is not exhaustive. The absence of an organization from our listings reflects no negative judgment — it simply means we have not yet added them. Our coverage is constrained by the information available to us and our editorial capacity.
7. Accuracy & Completeness of Information
We make good-faith efforts to keep all listings accurate and current. However, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any information on the Site. The following types of information change frequently and may be outdated:
- Club information: rosters, coach names, registration fees, age groups, season dates, contact details, and tryout information
- Field information: surface conditions, available hours, rental rates, phone numbers, facility amenities, and whether the facility is still operating
- High school information: coaching staff, team records, conference affiliations, player statistics, and program availability
- College information: coaches, scholarship availability, roster spots, division changes, and recruiting contact information
- League information: registration deadlines, division structures, schedules, standings, and contact details
- Camp and tryout listings: dates, locations, registration deadlines, and available slots
- Job listings: whether a position is still open, compensation details, and application deadlines
Always verify all critical information directly with the relevant organization before making any registration, travel, financial, or other commitment based on information found on this Site. We are a research starting point, not an authoritative real-time source.
To report an inaccuracy, please contact us. We take correction requests seriously and will update listings as promptly as our capacity allows.
8. Publicly Sourced Information & Attribution
8.1 - Sources
Information in our directory is derived from publicly available sources including: official club, school, and league websites; Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) public records; Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference (PVIAC) records; school district athletic department pages; state and municipal parks department websites; MaxPreps, GotSoccer, and similar public sports databases; local news coverage; and direct outreach to organizations. We do not scrape or republish private or proprietary data.
8.2 - Factual Information Is Not Copyrightable
Factual information about public entities — a school's win-loss record, a field's address, a coach's publicly listed name, a league's age divisions — is not subject to copyright. Our specific editorial arrangement, original written descriptions, and creative content are protected by copyright; the underlying facts are not.
8.3 - Personal Information About Private Individuals
We do not intentionally display personal contact information for private individuals, including individual email addresses, personal phone numbers, or home addresses. All contact details displayed are for public-facing organizational contacts. If you believe personal information about a private individual has been included in error, please contact us for prompt removal.
9. WMS Chat Assistant - Full Rules & Disclaimers
The WMS Chat Assistant is a custom automated chatbot — not a live human — that answers questions about Western Mass soccer using a pre-built, rule-based response engine containing over 5,000 lines of patterns, matchers, and responses. It is available via the green chat button in the lower-right corner of every non-admin page.
9.1 - Technical Architecture
All response generation happens entirely in your browser using pre-compiled JavaScript logic. The chat assistant does not call any external AI API (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini). It has no access to real-time data, the internet, or any system beyond its pre-programmed knowledge base. Sponsor card injection involves a database query to fetch active chat sponsors, but no user message text is sent to the sponsor or any third party.
9.2 - What the Chat Assistant Can Do
- Answer general questions about clubs, fields, schools, leagues, colleges, camps, and other topics in our directory
- Provide guidance on finding programs for specific ages, towns, skill levels, or seasons
- Describe how to contact or register with organizations listed on the Site
- Explain how to use Site features
- Provide general information about Western Mass soccer history and culture
- Offer context-aware responses based on the page you are currently viewing (club page, field page, etc.)
9.3 - What the Chat Assistant Cannot Do
- Provide legal, medical, financial, psychological, or other professional advice of any kind
- Access real-time information: live scores, current weather, real-time field conditions, or breaking news
- Register you for any program, event, league, camp, or tryout
- Contact any organization on your behalf
- Guarantee the accuracy of any information it provides
- Access any personal information about you beyond what you type in the current conversation
- Remember previous conversations after you close the chat or refresh the page (session-only memory)
9.4 - Chat Message Logging - Mandatory Disclosure
Every message you send and every response the chat assistant sends are logged to our Supabase database. The session ID (a random string, not linked to your identity), the role ("user" or "bot"), the full message text, and the page URL are all stored. This data is accessible to Site administrators and is used to improve the assistant's responses and monitor for abuse. By using the chat assistant, you explicitly consent to this logging.
See Privacy Policy §10 for full technical details of what is logged and how long it is retained.
9.5 - Sponsored Content in Chat
The chat assistant may display "sponsor cards" — branded content blocks — when keywords in your message match a sponsoring advertiser's keyword list. These cards are clearly labeled as sponsored. The appearance of a sponsor card does not mean the sponsor can see your message; keyword matching occurs entirely within your browser, and only an aggregate impression event (no message text) is recorded for the sponsor's analytics.
9.6 - No Liability for Chat Responses
The chat assistant's responses are generated by pre-programmed logic and may contain errors, outdated information, or inappropriate responses in unexpected conversation flows. We are not liable for any action you take based on information provided by the chat assistant. All important decisions should be verified through official sources and direct contact with the relevant organization.
10. Community Star Ratings - Rules & Disclaimers
Star ratings (1–5 stars) are available on club, field, high school, and college detail pages. They represent the anonymous aggregate opinions of Site visitors who have chosen to rate those entities. They are not audited, verified, or endorsed by us.
10.1 - What Ratings Are and Are Not
A rating on this Site is an informal, anonymous, non-verified expression of opinion by an anonymous web visitor. It has no official significance. It does not constitute a professional review, certification, licensing assessment, safety evaluation, or endorsement of any kind. Do not make important decisions about your child's participation in a program solely based on a star rating on this Site.
10.2 - Rules for Submitting Ratings
By submitting a star rating, you agree to:
- Submit only your genuine, personal assessment of the entity based on actual experience
- Not submit ratings designed to artificially inflate your own affiliated organization's score
- Not submit ratings designed to suppress a competitor's or rival's score
- Not coordinate with others to artificially influence an entity's aggregate rating
- Not use automated tools to submit multiple ratings
One rating per entity per device is enforced technically (unique constraint on device ID + entity). Re-rating updates your previous rating. We reserve the right to remove ratings we believe were submitted in bad faith, fraudulently, or through automated means.
10.3 - No Liability for Ratings
We are not liable for any loss, harm, reputational damage, or other consequence arising from ratings posted on this Site by anonymous visitors. Organizations that believe a rating is defamatory or was submitted fraudulently may contact us to request review.
11. Shoutouts - Public Posts, Your Responsibility
Shoutouts are short public messages that any visitor can post on entity detail pages. They are immediately publicly visible to all Site visitors upon submission and are stored indefinitely in our database.
11.1 - Key Facts About Shoutouts
- The name you enter and your message are publicly displayed to all Site visitors
- Shoutouts are stored permanently until an administrator removes them
- No device ID is stored with shoutouts — we cannot technically link a submitted shoutout back to your device after the fact
- We do not pre-moderate shoutouts — they are posted immediately without review
- We can remove shoutouts at any time at our sole discretion
11.2 - What You Must Not Post
- Defamatory statements about any individual, coach, organization, or business
- Personal contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses) for yourself or others
- Harassing, threatening, or abusive content directed at any person
- Impersonations of any person or official
- Commercial advertising or spam
- Obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit content
- Content promoting violence, discrimination, or hatred
- Copyrighted content you do not have the right to reproduce
11.3 - License Grant
By submitting a shoutout, you grant WesternMassSoccer.com a worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to display, reproduce, and remove that content at our sole discretion. You represent and warrant that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
11.4 - Requesting Shoutout Removal
If you posted a shoutout and wish to have it removed, or if you see a shoutout that violates these Terms, please contact us with the text of the shoutout and the URL of the page it appears on.
12. Field Condition Reports - Important Safety Disclaimer
Field condition reports are crowdsourced assessments of whether a playing field is currently open, closed, wet, muddy, or otherwise affected by weather or other conditions. These reports are submitted by anonymous Site visitors and are not verified by us, the field operator, any municipal authority, or any safety organization.
Do not rely solely on a field condition report on this Site to determine whether a field is safe or open for use. Field conditions can change rapidly and dramatically due to weather, maintenance operations, scheduled events, facility closures, and other factors beyond anyone's ability to track in real time.
Always confirm field status through official channels — the field operator's website, your league's communication system, your club's notifications, the school's athletic department, or the local parks department — before traveling to or using any field.
We are not liable for any loss, injury, inconvenience, expense, or harm of any kind resulting from reliance on field condition information posted on this Site.
13. Community Polls - Rules & Disclaimers
Community polls are informal, non-scientific surveys on topics related to Western Mass soccer. Poll results are publicly displayed and have no official or binding significance. One vote per poll per device is technically enforced via device ID.
By voting in a poll, you agree to vote sincerely and not to attempt to manipulate poll results through any technical means (VPNs used to generate multiple device IDs, automated voting scripts, etc.). We reserve the right to void polls we believe have been manipulated and to remove any poll at any time.
Poll questions and answer options are created by our administrative staff. We make no representation that polls are scientifically representative of the Western Mass soccer community. Do not make any important decisions based on poll results on this Site.
14. Daily Soccer Trivia - Rules, Logging & Disclaimers
Daily Soccer Trivia presents 10 questions per day drawn from a question bank about Western Mass soccer history. The daily question set is determined by a deterministic daily seed — all visitors see the same questions on a given day.
14.1 - Answer Logging
Every answer you submit is stored in our Supabase trivia_answers table, linked to your anonymous device ID, the quiz date, the full question text, your chosen answer, the correct answer, and whether you were correct. This data is used to prevent re-taking the same day's quiz and to track aggregate question-level correctness statistics. See Privacy Policy §15 for full details.
14.2 - One Quiz Per Day Per Device
Each device can complete each daily quiz once. Once all 10 answers are submitted for a given date, the quiz is locked for that device for that day. A new quiz is available each calendar day (UTC).
14.3 - Accuracy Disclaimer
Trivia questions and answer explanations may contain errors. We are not liable for any inaccuracies. If you believe a trivia answer is incorrect, please contact us.
15. Stadium Striker Games - Rules, Leaderboard & Disclaimers
15.1 - Three Game Variants
The Site hosts three separate browser-based soccer game experiences:
- Stadium Striker 3D (/game) — The primary penalty-shootout game. Features a 3D goalkeeper, four difficulty tiers (Easy, Normal, Hard, Legendary), kit customization, school selection, and a public leaderboard. Runs entirely in your browser via WebGL.
- Stadium Striker Classic (/game/classic) — A simplified penalty-shootout variant with a different visual style. Same core gameplay rules and leaderboard as Stadium Striker 3D.
- Stadium Match (/game/match) — An experimental 11v11 full 3D match mode with AI-controlled teammates and opponents, ball physics, a mobile touch joystick, and a score/timer display.
15.2 - Gameplay Is Local
All game logic runs entirely in your browser. No server interaction occurs during gameplay. Your moves, shots, and game state are never transmitted to our servers. The only server interaction is the optional score submission described below.
15.3 - Score Submission Rules
After a Stadium Striker 3D or Classic round ends, you may optionally click "Submit Score" to add your score to the public leaderboard. Score submission stores: your initials (up to 3 characters), your score, your selected school name (optional), the school's mascot (auto-populated), and the color of your kit. These are permanently publicly displayed on the leaderboard.
By submitting a score, you represent and warrant that:
- Your score was achieved through completely unmodified normal gameplay
- You did not use browser developer tools, memory editors, cheat codes, or any external tool to modify game state, variables, or score values
- The initials you submit do not contain offensive, harassing, or objectionable content
- You consent to the permanent public display of your initials, score, school, and kit color on our leaderboard
- The score is genuinely yours — you are not submitting on behalf of another person
We reserve the right to remove any leaderboard entry at any time for any reason, including suspected cheating, offensive content in initials, or any other cause at our sole discretion. Removed scores will not be restored.
15.4 - Leaderboard is Public
The game leaderboard is publicly accessible. Do not submit initials or school information that could be used to identify you if you are not comfortable with that identification being permanently public.
15.5 - No Liability for Game Issues
The games are provided as-is for entertainment. We make no warranties regarding their performance on your device, their availability, or their compatibility with your browser. We are not liable for crashes, lost scores, graphical glitches, performance problems, or any other issue arising from playing the games. Some devices and browsers may not support the graphics features required — we cannot guarantee the games will function on all hardware configurations.
16. Global Search & Search Query Logging
The Global Search feature (accessible via the search bar or Cmd+K / Ctrl+K keyboard shortcut) allows visitors to search across all directory entity types simultaneously — clubs, colleges, fields, high schools, jobs, leagues, and historical records.
16.1 - Client-Side Filtering
As you type in the search box, results are filtered in real time entirely in your browser. No server requests are made while you are typing. Your keystrokes are not transmitted to our servers.
16.2 - Search Logging Upon Submission
When you press Enter or explicitly select "See all results for [query]" in the search dialog, or when you submit a search from the full search results page at /search, the text of your search query is logged to our database. No device identifier, IP address, or other identifying information is stored with search logs. See Privacy Policy §9 for full details.
16.3 - Recent Searches in Your Browser
Up to 8 recent search queries are stored in your browser's local storage so that the search interface can display your recent search history. This data never leaves your browser. You can clear it using the "Clear all" button in the search dialog or by clearing your browser's local storage.
16.4 - Sponsored Search Results
The search dialog may display sponsored results when your query matches a sponsoring advertiser's keyword list. Sponsored results are labeled as such and appear separately from organic directory results. A sponsor impression is tracked when a sponsored result is displayed; a click is tracked when you click the sponsored result's link.
17. All User-Submitted Content - General Rules
Any content you submit to the Site through any mechanism — shoutout messages, contact form text, advertising inquiry messages, game initials, trivia answers, chat messages, poll votes, field condition reports, or star ratings — must comply with the following:
- Content must be truthful and not intentionally misleading
- Content must not be defamatory, harassing, threatening, abusive, or designed to harm any individual or organization
- Content must not infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, right of publicity, or other intellectual property right of any third party
- Content must not disclose personal information about others without their consent
- Content must not be obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- Content must not promote or incite violence, discrimination, or hatred toward any group or individual
- Content must not constitute spam, unauthorized commercial solicitation, or advertising (unless through the proper advertising inquiry channel)
- Content must not contain malware, viruses, trojan horses, worms, or any other harmful or disruptive code
- Content must not violate any applicable law or regulation
We reserve the right — but expressly disclaim any obligation — to review, edit, or remove any user-submitted content at our sole discretion at any time, without notice, and for any reason. We are not liable for any content submitted by users.
18. Contact & Advertising Inquiry Forms
18.1 - Contact Form
The contact form at /contact is provided for legitimate inquiries: correction requests, listing addition or removal requests, media or partnership inquiries, DMCA notices, and general feedback. By submitting the form, you represent that your submission is truthful, that you have the authority to send it on behalf of any organization you claim to represent, and that it does not violate any applicable law.
We make reasonable efforts to respond to contact submissions but are not obligated to respond to every message. We may decline to respond to submissions we deem to be in bad faith, to constitute spam, or to be outside the scope of our Site's purpose.
18.2 - Advertising Inquiry Form
The form at /advertise is for businesses interested in advertising on the Site. Submitting the form constitutes only an expression of interest — it does not create any contract, obligation, commitment, or advertising agreement. Any actual advertising arrangement requires a separate written agreement between the advertiser and WesternMassSoccer.com.
We reserve the right to decline any advertising inquiry for any reason, without explanation.
19. Intellectual Property & Copyright

19.2 - Third-Party Licensed Content
The 3D character model used in Stadium Striker 3D is provided under open-source licenses (MIT and CC-BY-4.0). The Site uses various open-source JavaScript and UI libraries, each used under their respective open-source licenses.
19.3 - Third-Party Trademarks
Club names, school names, league names, conference names, and other organization identifiers referenced on the Site are the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship of, or endorsement by those organizations.
19.4 - Your Limited License to Use This Site
We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial, non-transferable license to view, print, and share links to individual pages of the Site for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not: republish Site content commercially; create derivative works based on our original content; remove or obscure copyright notices; use our name, logo, or branding without written permission; or reproduce our software code outside the open-source license terms of any applicable dependency.
20. DMCA Copyright Takedown Procedure
We respect copyright law and respond to valid DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notices. If you believe that content on this Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to us via the contact form with "DMCA Notice" clearly indicated. Your notice must include all of the following:
- Your legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address
- A description of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed, including registration number(s) if applicable

- A statement: "I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law"
- A statement: "The information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner"
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will respond to valid DMCA notices by removing or disabling access to the allegedly infringing content within a reasonable time. Repeated infringers will have their access to the Site terminated.

If you believe your content was wrongfully removed pursuant to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notice including: your identifying information; identification of the removed material and its location before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your district. Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed content after providing the complaining party with notice of the counter-notice and an opportunity to seek a court order.
21. Advertising & Sponsorships - Complete Disclosure
21.1 - What Advertising on This Site Means
WesternMassSoccer.com accepts paid advertising and sponsorships from local businesses. All advertising is contracted directly between the advertiser and WesternMassSoccer.com. Advertisers pay us to place their business in front of the Site's audience.
21.2 - What Advertising Placement Does NOT Mean
The appearance of an advertisement on any page of this Site — regardless of which club, school, field, town, league, or category page it appears on — does not mean any of the following:
- That the listed organization on that page has any relationship, agreement, or communication with the advertiser

21.3 - What Advertising Placement ONLY Means
An advertisement on any page of this Site means exclusively that a business paid WesternMassSoccer.com to display their ad on this website. The page's topic or subject may be used to target a contextually relevant audience. That is the full and complete extent of the relationship.
21.4 - Ad Types on the Site

21.5 - Advertiser Responsibilities
Advertisers are solely and entirely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and compliance of their advertisement content with all applicable laws and advertising regulations, including FTC guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, Massachusetts consumer protection law, and any applicable industry-specific regulations. We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or remove any advertisement at any time, for any reason, without explanation.
21.6 - Editorial Independence
Our editorial content, directory listings, search results, star ratings, and all other Site content are produced and maintained independently of any advertising relationship. We do not guarantee coverage of, favorable treatment of, or any listing for any advertising client. Advertisers do not influence, review, or approve editorial content.
21.7 - Ad Performance Tracking
We track ad impressions and clicks as described in our Privacy Policy §8. Advertisers receive aggregate performance reports (total impressions, clicks, CTR). No personal information about individual visitors is shared with advertisers.
22. Third-Party Links, Maps & Embeds
22.1 - External Links
The Site links to numerous external websites including club websites, league registration platforms, school district pages, MaxPreps, MassLive, college program pages, and others. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse, control, maintain, or take responsibility for the content, availability, accuracy, privacy practices, or data collection of any external website. Clicking an external link takes you off our Site — the destination site's own policies govern your interaction there.
22.2 - Google Maps
Pages featuring field detail views and the homepage master map embed Google Maps. When these maps load, your browser makes direct connections to Google's servers. Google may receive your IP address and browser data. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
22.3 - Third-Party JavaScript Libraries
The Site uses open-source JavaScript and UI libraries that run locally in your browser. These libraries are bundled into our JavaScript delivery and do not independently transmit data to third parties. No external CDN-hosted scripts are loaded from third parties beyond Google Analytics and Google Maps.

27. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
27.1 - Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or related to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and the federal laws of the United States where applicable.
27.2 - Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, you agree to first contact us through our contact form and make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally. We will do the same.
27.3 - Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site (excluding claims for injunctive relief to protect intellectual property) shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, conducted in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
27.4 - Class Action Waiver
ALL DISPUTES MUST BE ARBITRATED OR LITIGATED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, COLLECTIVE ACTION, MASS ACTION, CONSOLIDATED ACTION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SITE.
27.5 - Equitable Relief
Notwithstanding the arbitration clause, either party may seek preliminary injunctive or other equitable relief from any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent imminent or continuing harm — particularly for intellectual property claims.
27.6 - Fallback Jurisdiction
If the arbitration clause is found unenforceable, any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hampshire County, Massachusetts. You irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
28. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Modifications take effect immediately upon posting to the Site. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Because we operate no user account system or email newsletter, we cannot notify you of changes directly. You are responsible for checking this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site after modified Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of those modifications.
29. Entire Agreement, Severability & Waiver
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WesternMassSoccer.com with respect to the Site and supersede all prior agreements, representations, warranties, and understandings, whether written or oral.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, without affecting the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms in any instance does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision in any future instance. All waivers must be in writing and signed by us to be effective.
