    Fall 2026 State Tournament Dates Set, Brackets Released November 5

    The key dates for the Fall 2026 statewide soccer tournament are set. The cutoff for qualification is Tuesday, November 3; brackets are released Thursday, November 5; and the tournament begins Friday, November 6. State final dates are announced later in the season. Since fall 2022 there has been no separate Western Mass sectional title. Every Western Mass school now enters a single statewide bracket in its division.

    Fall 2026 Soccer Divisions Already Locked In, Alignment Covers Two Seasons

    The statewide soccer tournament alignment runs for both the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years, so every Western Mass school's division for Fall 2026 is already set. Ludlow and Springfield Central are the region's only Division 1 boys programs; Springfield Central is the only Division 1 girls program. Enrollment-driven placement puts many of the region's smallest programs in Division 5.

    Four Western Mass Cooperative Soccer Teams Approved Through 2026-27

    The fall cooperative team list confirms four District 1 soccer co-ops for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons. Lenox Memorial hosts a boys team with Lee Middle and High School, and Pathfinder RVT hosts a boys team with Palmer High School. On the girls side, Franklin County Tech hosts Turners Falls, and Putnam Vocational hosts John J. Duggan Academy.

    Roots Soccer League Opens Its Fall 2026 Season Across Three Counties

    The Roots Soccer League, roughly 350 teams and about 200 games a week across Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties, begins Fall 2026 play in September. Fall runs 7U through 14U, with 9U and 10U opening on a Jamboree weekend and the 11U-14U brackets closing with play-offs for the top four teams in each division. Registration is handled by each member club, never by the league itself.

    Berkshire Kickoff Classic Returns Labor Day Weekend, September 5-6

    BCYSL's season-opening tournament runs Saturday September 5 and Sunday September 6, 2026 at Berkshire Community College and the Crosby School in Pittsfield. Brackets are open to grades 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. BCYSL's regular season then settles into its usual Saturday rhythm at Astro Community Park, with kick-offs from 8:00am to 4:00pm depending on age group.

    Free U.S. Soccer Coach for Community Clinic Comes to Three Rivers on August 23

    U.S. Soccer, Mass Youth Soccer and Palmer Soccer are hosting a free Coach for Community field session on Sunday August 23 from 9-11am at 2015 Main Street, Three Rivers. The session focuses on managing a large variance in player and team abilities, and is open to coaches, teachers, parents and anyone else running youth soccer in their community. Attendees receive a voucher for an online U.S. Soccer Grassroots course.

    Agawam Soccer Enters a Record 26 Travel Teams for 2026-27

    Agawam Soccer Association is fielding a record 26 teams in the Roots Soccer League for the 2026-27 season. Travel and InTown games both begin the weekend of September 12-13. With rosters that size the club is still looking to fill open coaching positions across several age groups. Registration questions go to registrar Jeff Heinze.
