About State Tournament
High school athletics in Massachusetts run under a single state governing body, which sets eligibility rules, tournament formats, and the statewide divisional alignment. Since fall 2022 soccer has used a single statewide tournament in each of five divisions rather than the old sectional format. Divisions are set by an enrollment-based formula; the current soccer alignment covers both the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years, so Fall 2026 divisions are already fixed.
Good to Know
Fall 2026 soccer key dates: cutoff Tuesday November 3, bracket release Thursday November 5, tournament begins Friday November 6. State final dates are announced later in the season. Western Mass schools sit in District 1.
